Both V. Williams and Vika played unbelievably well in the final, and unfortunately the match ended
63 75 for Williams. Vika saved 2 match balls with incredible winners before losing the 3rd one. The match
was a battle of power but included variety and many net points as well. Vika can be proud of the way she played
and hopefully she will bring this form with her to Indian Wells and Miami.

Vika beat top-10 player A. Radwanska 63 64 to advance to her first final of 2010, and got
herself revenge from the 2009 YEC when Radwanska defeated Vika and stopped Vika from advancing
from the round robin.

For the second time in 2010, and 6th overall, Sam Sumyk is on the winning side in the coach battle
between him and Antonio Van Grichen. Vika and Sumyk defeated Grichen and Zvonareva 61 63 in the QF in Dubai.
Vika is now 2-4 vs Vera and Sumyk is 6-0 vs Grichen. Vika played great and it seemed to scare her
opponent who showed frustrations and started spraying errors due to Vika's high level.

Vika played and survived yet another 3-setter in 2010 as she defeated Anna-Lena Groenefeld 61 46 63 in the R16
in Dubai. Vika was dominating in the first set and the German hardly won any points. In the second set they both held
serves until the very end when Anna-Lena broke Vika and forced the match into a deciding 3rd set which Vika
fortunately won.

Vika wasn't tested much in her first match ever in Dubai. Leading 4-1 in the opening set
against K. Bondarenko, Bondarenko was forced to retire due to injury. Vika showed compasion for
her opponent as she nursed her on court and later followed the progress via her phone as she
shared with her fans on twitter.
